News: Raleigh GAC team for Beaumont Trophy

Raleigh GAC have revealed a strong six-rider team that they will be taking to the international Beaumont Trophy road race on June 19th. The race is the final event of the three-day Cyclone Festival of Cycling, based in Northumberland.

The six riders Raleigh GAC have selected reflect the international flavour of the team, with three Spaniards, Albert Torres, Sebastian Mora and Adria Moreno, two Frenchman, Matthieu Boulo and Morgan Kneisky and a Scot, Evan Oliphant.

The team have recently been at the forefront of the action in the Pearl Izumi Tour Series, with Torres, Mora and Kneisky all showing good form in the early rounds. Meanwhile, the veteran of the team, Evan Oliphant, recently collected his seventh Scottish road title and looks as strong as ever.

Several of the team have outstanding credentials as Track riders: Sebastian Mora is the reigning world champion in the Scratch Race discipline, a title Morgan Kneisky won in 2010. Kneisky also has two world Madison titles to his credit, from 2013 and 2015. Meanwhile, Albert Torres won the Madison title in 2014.

Beaumont Trophy Organiser Peter Harrison said: “It’s great to see a UK-based team like Raleigh GAC helping to give the race a truly international flavour and, of course, the Raleigh name brings with it a unique heritage in the sport. Meanwhile, their recent successes in the Tour Series and, individually, at the World Track Championships mean that they add a lot to our race and give cycling fans something special to come along and support.”
