Joel Wainman wins the Malton Wheelers Road Club “Sledmere Monuments 10.5 mile Time Trial” on Saturday 9th March

Part of the Yorkshire SpoCo series run by the YCF.

The previous years have been blessed with sunshine, so it’s only fair that 2013 was a stinker of a day. It was 2 – 3 degrees and wet. This is not a good combination for riders with only lycra to protect them from the elements. A clean sweep by Team Swift took podium positions for the hilly course which is just under 11 miles.

First lady was Jessica Bacon of Clifton CC with 29:34 who was absolutely nithered back at HQ trying to get warm with a mug of tea and a bun. The catering was really well supported with homemade cakes and savouries from Malton Wheeler members. Flowers were given to the winners by Jack Baldwin which was donated by his Father Colin.
