News: Team Bottecchia UK Under 23 Road Race Team

Acting as an Academy to the Wigmore CC, the Team Bottecchia UK Under 23 Road Race Team hopes to help young riders progress in the sport of cycling in Britain

The Wigmore cycling club has a strong go ride club and the academy will act as a stepping stone to the racing scene at regional & national level. For the 2014 season the team will be running on Bottecchia SP9 with Shimano dura-ace group sets

The Team is being run by the-bike-warehouse.com with support on race days from Jason Nind & Simon Howes who will be the directeur sportifs with Luke Anderson the coaching advisor and Andrew Hillman the soigneur.

Simon said “2013 was a fantastic year for me working with IG Sigmasport, being involved in such races as the Tour of Britain & ride London was an amazing opportunity to further my own experience & increase my knowledge of racing at that level” .

“There were many high points in 2013 however what gave me the greatest satisfaction was seeing the younger riders in the team mature and progress during the season” .

“Although 2014 will be the first year of team Bottecchia UK, I’ve been really impressed by its appearance, enthusiasm, sponsors & mostly it’s philosophy that it wants to support aspiring riders to progress. If I can help in a small way then that will give me great satisfaction” .
