News – Limited entries at Hillingdon

At the Hillingdon circuit on Monday, 5 May, entries on that day for the 4th cat support race to the Condon Cycles London 3-day will be restricted to the first 48 riders to arrive. There are 22 pre-entered.

The unusual restriction at Hillingdon, where bigger fields are the norm, is technical as there are just 70 transponders available. The usual photofinish is unavailable as it has been lent to the women’s 3-day event at Milton Keynes, so the South East Road Race League, probably the instigators in the UK of the use of transponders at grass roots racing level, are covering both this support race and the main Condor Cycles 3-day final stage.

Racing starts at 10.30am with the first of two youth races for which there is no restriction of on-day entries, but without full technical back up, results may be restricted to the essential placings as it will be down to pencils and clipboards for judging the old-fashioned way.

The 4th cat race starts at 12 noon and the final stage of the three day starts at 1.30pm when 58 riders of 2nd and 3rd categories are due to line up.
