A testing circuit race saw much of the field splintered in the first third of the race after a blistering pace was set from the off. The first prime was won by Jamie Pine of Pedal Heaven, who sprinted passed eventual winner Jacob Tipper to take that prize.

The second prime was won by Peter Anderson of The Racers after a break of 5 had formed, who gained a maximum of 20 seconds before being reeled in. The third prime went to George Wood of Richardsons Trek with most of the field now concentrating on positioning themselves for the final sprint.

Jacob Tipper, of Neon-Velo RT, has won on the circuit before having won the Thursday night event before the 3 day started last year. Although the circuit was different this time round, he still managed to find himself in the right position to launch his sprint.

Jacob waited until Lewis Atkins (Pedal Heaven) kicked before opening up his sprint and taking the victory with ease ahead of Will Goulbourne (Corley Cycles – Drops RT) and Atkins.

The next stage sees them tackle 50 miles of the Cranfield “triangle”.
