The Halesowen Academy road race in Shropshire on March 20 starts a nine-race series which will end on July 24, with each race on a different course offering opportunities to all types of racer. The Halesowen event has reverted to its original Regional A format for 2nd, 3rd and 4th category riders.
“Initially we planned this race as a handicap, but the traditional Abergavenny handicap race is now being run on the same date and rather than have two races with similar formats so close to each other geographically we decided to give riders a chance to go for early British Cycling ranking points,” said organiser William Fotheringham.
