Team News: Rotor UK Sponsor Team AT85
The AT85 Pro Cycling UCI Continental racing team is excited to announce a new partnership with Rotor UK to supply their 16 riders with the market-leading Rotor 2INpower Powermeters. The Rotor Powermeters, recognised for their innovative technologies, will allow each rider to view their unique cycling biomechanics and highlight where they can improve their pedalling technique.
Using the data collected by the 2INpower Powermeters, the riders can learn more about their training and racing performance, find out when they can turn up the pace, ease off the pedals, do another interval or take a break. ”We’re very pleased to be partnering up with AT85 Pro Cycling for the 2023 season. The wealth of talent in the team is vast and includes some familiar faces whom we have worked with successfully in previous seasons. We look forward to a year of good results and accurate power figures!” said Robin Corder, MD of Rotor Distributor Velotech Services Ltd.
Commenting on the partnership with Rotor, Tim Elverson, Sports Director of AT85 Pro Cycling, said, “For teams like ours with smaller budgets, it’s all about the optimum use of our time and resources. Partnering with Rotor was easy because they offer a high-quality, reliable product that will become a vital tool for all of our riders. The 2INpower Powermeter’s great performance will allow us to make the best use of our time and to gain maximum feedback from every training and race situation. I can’t wait to finish the year with these power meters on our new bikes.”
From a rider perspective, Stuart Balfour, 4th in the Rutland-Melton CiCLE Classic in 2022 and 3rd in the Manx International, said, “Having a reliable power meter means you can have instant feedback on your sessions as you ride. It lets you know exactly how hard you’re pushing and ensures you get the most out of each training session. This allows you to progress to your maximum potential!”
Classics rider Sam Culverwell, 2nd in the GC and winner of the Mountains Classification in the 2022 Tour de Taiwan and 9th in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Road Race (riding for Guernsey), said “I’m looking forward to using Rotor power meters in 2023. I have used one before, and their accuracy and reliability mean they are the perfect tool for training and racing.”
Returning rider Max Stedman, 2020 Tour of Antalya GC winner, has been using the Rotor products out of choice for the last two years and adds, “I seriously like Rotor, which is why I have chosen to use them for the past two seasons. In terms of power readings, they’re super reliable and accurate, which for training is a must. In addition, they run smoothly, and you can personalise the settings by varying gear ratio combinations. And finally, I must mention looks: full black cranks and chainrings make any bike look stealthy and classy.”
AT85 Pro Cycling (last year Wiv Sungod) is the 2023 name for the British UCI Continental road cycling team that began as Pedal Heaven in 2014. New title partner AT85 are part of Astatine Investment Partners, investing in and managing transportation, digital & utility-related infrastructure in North America & Europe.
Team founder and Sports Director Tim Elverson retains overall management, supported by 1990 British road champion, Colin Sturgess and Assistant Sports Director Anders Christensen. They have named a team of 16 riders for 2023 and will be racing in the UK and throughout the rest of Europe during the season.
