RR Result: Great Budworth Spring Road Race

Emily Martin winner of the Regional B women’s Great Budworth Spring Road Race in Cheshire on April 2nd. The event is the first instalment of the inaugural Women Race North league, which is bringing road events for women at a regional level across the North West, North East and Yorkshire, sponsored by Specialized Harrogate. The race was very active, with a flurry of attempts to get off the front, notably by Ruby Oakes of JRC Interflon, until Emily Martin of Team Bottrill launched an attack with two laps to go which saw Martin time trial away from the peloton, eventually winning by over two minutes. Oakes would subsequently gap the peloton and finish best of the rest, with Melissa Denman of Contiki Velo Bavarian leading the bunch home in third.
