Alexander Foster and Andrew Pink winners at round 12 of the SACA Salt Ayre Tuesday Series on July 1 in Lancaster
Result: SACA Salt Ayre Tuesday Series #12
Round 12 was run by Spectrum Racing and had a 45 min Block Handicap and 60 min Open 2/3/4. In the block handicap the front group of 11 riders were given 2/3 of a lap start from the scratch group of 9 but it took only 8 laps before it all came together. A few riders tried to get away but never had much of a lead so it was a mass bunch sprint with Alex Foster (Wolf Cycles) beating his team-mate Ed Hindmarsh for the win, with Mark Berry (Rossendale CC) 3rd. Fifth in the Handicap was a dead-heat, as the judges couldn’t separate them on the photo finish camera.
In the 2/3/4 Jack Unsworth (Giant Kendal-Sidas UK) and Jago Sadler (BC PM) established a good lead for several laps, just as the evening rain came down, but they were eventually reeled in and it was another bunch sprint where Andrew Pink (Q36.5 London Racing Expedition) narrowly beat Julian Pearson (Giant Kendal-Sidas UK) with Alex Foster (Wolf Cycles) getting 3rd.
