John Degenkolb (Giant Shimano) makes it three from three whilst Stephen Cummings (BMC) wins the Time Trial and now leads overall

Stage 4 TT -Â Steve Cummings wins TT & takes lead in Tour of the Med
Whilst the Wirral’s Stephen Cummings could never be described as being shy and retiring, he is the quiet man of the British pro peloton, working hard for teammates and then occasionally taking his chances and hitting the headlines winning races.
In the recent Tour of Dubai, he was second overall after being beaten by Taylor Phinney in the time trial and holding on to his second place on GC to the end.
In the Tour of Med, the tables were turned on his teammate with ‘Stevo’ winning and taking over the leader’s jersey whilst Phinney just finished outside the top 10 saying afterwards it was a bit hilly for him.
Stevo beat neo pro Riccardo Zoidl (Trek) by four seconds with a strong time trial rider in the form of multi French champion Sylvain Chavanel in third.
“It was a good time trial for me. A little technical but we looked at it last week so I knew the course well.”
“I like these kind of climbs that are not too steep. Â The team has been strong and stayed together and I have really enjoyed it so far. We will try and defend the lead but first of all I will enjoy today!”

Stage 3
Whether the stage is long or short, Giant/Shimano rider John Degenkolb carried on winning in the Tour Méditerranéen on Saturday. The first of two stages today saw the Giant Shimano rider win a short and fast 63km race from Lambesc to Saint Rémy de Provence where he outsprinted Thor Hushovd (BMC) and Sonny Colbrelli (Bardiani) to the line. Ian Wilkinson in the new Raleigh colours was 16th.
After the stage John said: “Once again I have to thank my teammates for today. They have controlled the race for three days now and are still riding super strong. Starting a season like this is a great way to thank everyone who supports us, the fans, sponsors, staff. Hopefully the wins will keep coming.â€
