News – Raleigh’s Militis SRAM eTap
Raleigh UK have revealed they will be releasing a limited edition Militis Raleigh team SRAM Red eTap racing bike priced at £6,000. The bike is one of the most technologically advanced ones that Raleigh has produced.
Based on a Militis frame that the Raleigh-GAC riders acknowledge as being light, tough and responsive with good clearances, Raleigh is expected to be one of the first brands to have the frame and SRAM eTap combination and bikes can be pre-ordered.
The innovative SRAM Red eTap system connects together wirelessly for a clean looking bike with fast changes. The bikes will be hand assembled by Raleigh mechanics at the headquarters in Nottingham.
The team Militis SRAM Red eTap bike will have Zipp 202 Firecrest wheels, Zipp carbon SL70 aero bars, Zipp SL Carbon stem, Zipp carbon SL seatpost, Schwalbe Pro ones and Fizik Arione R5 saddle. The bike, UCI approved, is based on a frame that weighs 880 grams and was developed in conjunction with Team Raleigh.
The bike will come in the striking Red and Yellow colours that link back to the halcyon days of TI Raleigh of the 70s and 80s. Raleigh road bike product manager Duncan Mackenzie says of a bike that Raleigh are rightly proud of “the SRAM Red eTap groupset is phenomenal. We’ve worked hard to pair this amazing groupset with our very best frameset and component offering.â€
“Our 880 grame Militis frame combined with the Zipp carbon components will bring the weight of the bike in at just 6.7kg making it both lightweight, aerodynamic without compromising the ride, handling, or stiffness.â€
