For 2016 there will be a new team hoping to change opinions, with support from the Rutland Water Giant Store and Wattbike. The team, a group of riders from the East Midlands, are looking to compete on the national stage targeting National A and B races with a big focus on some of the classic races in the UK calendar.

All of the riders currently have busy lives off the bike holding down full time jobs, including a Teacher and a Farmer and also a rider managing to complete a degree with a part time job and still finding time to train in-between. The riders are trying to prove that being time efficient and clever with their training they are still able to compete with the best riders in the UK.

“The group of riders we have managed to pull together for the 2016 is a strong mix of experience and raw talent with riders coming from various backgrounds we have an ex-triathlete who competed on the world stage, two top level cyclocross riders and a pair of young U23s all looking to prove their worth on the road this season.”

For 2016 the riders will be on Giant TCRs with Shimano Ultegra and Giants brilliant in house wheels, along with super Santini Kit provided by Wattbike.
