Day 1
Doug Dewey and Simon Gaywood were the stage winners on day 1 of the big race in the South West, the Totnes-Vire three stage, two day race. The 4 mile time trial was won convincingly by Dewey and he took that lead into the second road stage where he missed the nine up break that escaped around half way. Counter attacks came and went but the break was not to be caught and after the two stages, the leader overall is James McLaughlin, nine seconds ahead of Colin Parry with Freddy Johannson third overall at 24 seconds.
