Thomas van Bracht writes … British riders Helen Wyman, Nikki Harris and Annie last all finished in the top 10 of today’s Cyclo-Cross World Cup in Hoogerheide, Netherlands.

Wyman was fifth in the race, guaranteeing a top five place in the World Cup GC. Harris meanwhile finished a respectable 7th place bumping her up to 10th overall in the GC.  Annie Last in a rare outing at a World Cup ‘cross race was eighth.

Marrianne Vos (Rabobank Ladies Team)  won today’s race in Hoogerheide, her 15th win in a row out of 16 races. Behind her, Daphny van den Brand, (AA-Cyling team) was second, just before Katerina Nash.
After the start, there was a huge crash, knocking out both Caroline Mani from France and Sophie de Boer from the Netherlands with serious injuries. Vos then broke away alone on the first lap and stayed away to win alone. Behind her, a group of three chases formed who were competed for the two remaining minor places. On the last lap, Daphne van den Brand tied up second place by attacking and crossing the line alone and thus ensuring a win in the GC.
