News: Women Tour of Qatar – The Gold Seekers

The Ladies Tour of Qatar (from 4th to 7th February 2014) holds its sixth edition this year and is an unmissable event at the start of the cycling season.

Four stages are programmed for the 90 entrants who will take the start on 4th February at the magnificent backdrop of the Museum of Islamic Art, designed in 2008 by Ioeh Ming Pei, the architect of the Louvre Pyramid.

Two years before the World Championships, which will take place in Qatar for the first time, the best cyclists in the international peloton will take advantage of the opportunity to tame the windy routes of the Emirate.

Fifteen teams representing ten countries will do their best to win the overall leader’s Gold Jersey. The coveted garment has often been worn by Dutch riders in recent years (Kirsten Wild in 2009, 2010 and 2013; Ellen Van Dijk in 2011). Great representatives of a cycling country par excellence!

Stage 2, Wednesday 5th February: Al Zubara Fort – Madinat Al Shamal (112.5 km)
Stage 3, Thursday 6th February: Katara Cultural Village – Al Khor Corniche (93.5 km)
Stage 4, Friday 7th February: Sealine Beach Resort – Doha Corniche (85 km)
