Lazer prides itself on designing and manufacturing some of the most advanced helmets in the world. This includes incorporating innovations such as Lifebeam technology which integrates a heart rate sensor in the Genesis Lifebeam helmet allowing cyclists to monitor their heart rate without wearing a restrictive chest strap.
To celebrate this partnership, Lazer has created a range of bespoke helmets, including the Wasp Air (£249.99) and Z1 (£199.99), whilst adding two brand new helmets; Cyclone (£29.99) and Blade (£59.99). The full range will be available to retail early 2015.
The deal with the GB Cycling Team is set to run until the end of 2016, the year British riders will be fighting it out in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics and Paralympic Games. In that time, the deal will also see Lazer officially support Go-Ride.
Kellie Parsons, Marketing Director at Madison said: “We have been a partner of British Cycling since 2010, and this has seen Britain’s top cyclists riding to success with Madison’s portfolio of brands. We are really excited to announce this sponsorship and see British cyclists wearing Lazer’s innovative helmets ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2016 Olympics.â€
Jamie Obank, Finance and Commercial Director at British Cycling added: “The Great Britain Cycling Team dominated the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, and British Cycling’s long term planning and preparation was a key factor in this performance. This success has helped get countless people into cycling at all levels and if we’re to maintain this, then we need to continue to work with the best equipment and suppliers.
“We are therefore delighted to announce this deal to extend our relationship with Madison and secure the use of the Lazer helmets well in advance of the 2016 Games, allowing us to have the best preparation.â€
