News: Boardman Bikes Sponsor One Pro
Boardman Bikes is proud to announce it will be returning to the Pro Peloton as the official bike sponsor for ONE Pro Cycling. Boardman Bikes have signed a 3 year partnership which will see them support the British based UCI Continental team and their 12 riders providing them with Race, TT and Training bikes.
The team will race on the Boardman AIR 9.8 giving them every aero advantage as they look to dominate the UK Race scene. For Time Trial events where ONE Pro Cycling Riders will be looking to gain every second and make every watt of energy count they will race on the Boardman TTE 9.8. For exceptionally hilly events and training the team will be riding the super light Boardman SLR Race 9.8.
Boardman will be able to offer ONE Pro Cycling so much more than just product as they will also have full access to the Boardman Performance Centre including Wind Tunnel and all its testing facilities when it opens in late 2017. This will allow the team to look closely at the science that will help them to win races.
The team will be made up of ten riders from the 2016 roster with the addition of two new exciting signings, Tom Stewart and Will Harper. ONE Pro Cycling are currently confirming the exact race program but will start their 2017 campaign at the Dubai Tour early February.
Andy Smallwood Boardman Bikes Managing Director commented “Following our 2016 success at the very highest level across other Cycling disciplines, it’s great to see Boardman back where it belongs at the front of the Pro Peloton and with ONE Pro Cycling we have a partner that shares our passion and drive for success. This collaboration between Britain’s premier bike brand and domestically focused race team showcases everything that is great about British cycle sport.”
The announcement of Boardman’s new ‘Performance Centre’ is a great example of how the company is evolving. In particular, the chance to work alongside Boardman in their own cycling specific wind tunnel will be a great asset to our team’s development.
Chris Boardman said “It’s great to be back in the Peloton and even better to be doing it with a fantastic UK team. Along with the opening of our Performance Centre, 2017 promises to be an exciting one.”
