A glorious night at Shrewsbury Sports Village with riders not tempted to enter on line turning up in droves on the night for the Youth Races despite it being SATS week. Who would have thought that an evening race could attract 30 under 10s but it shows that the Shropshire Cycling Clubs Association Youth Circuit Race League is being hard fought.
A small senior race due to the South Staffs and Shropshire Road Race League taking place just a few miles away. All races saw attacking aggressive racing but a tail wind up the finish hill maybe contributed to all races finishing in bunch sprints.
Thoughts go out to the Hafren CC rider who fell in the final sprint and got a ride in the ambulance, a night in hospital with possible broken collar bone and concussion. On the bright side, he’d already crossed the line and his result stands, with prize money waiting to be collected!
