News: Escape to Spain!
Nozad at CHS says they have some availability left from March through to June but spaces are filling up fast! The resort for cyclists near Calpe has many facilities like massage, pool, sauna, tennis courts and more so its not just about the bike!
CHS can accomodate riders heading out on their own as well as small groups and have six double bedrooms and a double cabin so can sleep 12 or more. If you don’t fancy taking a bike on the plane, CHS have Specialized Tarmac disc brake bikes to hire. Most of their group rides are based in the mountains with the fantastic climbs used in pro races and by pro team training camps but they also do some flat coast routes taking in a few of the beautiful coastal towns in the region.
And for those looking for Spanish racing, there is a brilliant Spanish race scene there with closed road races. The Volta Marina is very good with 12 races from December to March and each race starts in one of the local towns nearby. Nozad can fill you in on them at CHS.
Cycling Holiday Spain are brilliant hosts, very down to earth but don’t take our word for it. Tim Worthington had his fourth stay at CHS recently. Tim rode for North West club Horwich CC for nine years and now rides for Paria Magic Rock Racing. Tim was TLI National Closed Circuit Champion (40-44yr) 2017-18 and is a consistent second category rider (British Cycling licence). He says of his recent stay at CHS, “as always Noze and Jubi made us feel right at home straight away.”
“The riding was incredible, quiet roads and classic Vuelta climbs such as The Aitana, Col de Rates and Cumbre del Sol. The area is renowned as a favourite training ground for the Pro’s and whilst there we shared the roads with Quickstep, Confidis, Arkea, AG2R and Bahrain to name just a few. It really was awe inspiring to ride so close to the Pro’s!”
“Once we’d finished riding each day, the superb facilities at the villa ensured we were relaxed, recovered and ready to go again each morning. The food as always was healthy, home cooked and very tasty, whilst Jubi happily whipped up some amazing plant based dishes for the vegan in our group. All in all a great week, in a great cycling area with a fantastic set of hosts. Well done CHS, we’ll be back, again!”
