The new partnership, the first of its kind for a British junior cycling team, will help identify riders deserving of a step up to the next level. Creating an ecosystem of shared knowledge and insight, the partnership will in turn benefit Tofauti Everyone Active through learnings and access to training facilities and rider support systems used by their WorldTour counterparts.
The success seen by Tofauti Everyone Active, a team launched in 2019 by Ian Mansel-Thomas, over the last couple of seasons across both junior men’s and junior women’s racing, has helped to mark them out as an incubator for riders aiming for the professional ranks. Their achievements both on the road and off-road disciplines has helped attract riders already competing at the highest level in the junior ranks, resulting in National and European championship titles in just four seasons as a team.
The current state of elite racing in Britain may be in need of reform, however the talent that the junior pools continue to develop is second to none. This is backed up by emerging young talents achieving in their first seasons as professionals, including three of Team dsm-firmenich’s own British talents, Pfeiffer Georgi, Max Poole and Oscar Onley; as well as riders such as Joshua Tarling (INEOS-Grenadiers) and Zoe Bäckstedt (Canyon/SRAM).

Tofauti Everyone Active team manager, Ian Mansel-Thomas commented: “To be recognised by a team of the stature of Team dsm-firmenich in this regard is testament to how much young racing talent there is in the UK currently, something we’ve worked hard to nurture over the past few years. As a team, they are second to none when it comes to structure across men’s, women’s and U23 teams, always with an eye on a rider’s progression and development.
“So we’re really excited to be able to create this connection that will not only help Team dsm-firmenich to identify the next generational talents, but also help Tofauti Everyone Active too by learning from how a team such as this operates and manages these progression pathways – something we’ll look to integrate into our ways of working.”
The partnership follows a similar connection between Team dsm-firmenich and other teams, including women’s continental team GT KRUSH Rebellease and also Italian outfit BFT Burzoni, both of which have established development pathway links with the team.
Hans Timmermans, Scouting Coordinator at Team dsm-firmenich, added: “Tofauti Everyone Active has established itself as a real force for good on the junior race circuit internationally, providing British riders with a structure to help them achieve on the biggest scale. The results from nurturing and developing young riders speak for themselves, achievements that come from a combination of talent and also the support structure established around them. This is one of the main reasons why we identified this team as one that would be a great fit to help us continue to identify the next generation of up and coming stars from the UK.”
The new partnership will also support Tofauti Everyone Active’s plans to create a British and Irish development pathway, from junior to U23 to (W)WT, over the coming years.
