Result: SACA Salt Ayre Tuesday 18
On week 18 of the SACA Salt Ayre Tuesday Series, organised by Spectrum Racing, the event had a 45 minute Handicap race for all categories, followed by a one hour open 2/3/4 race.

In the Handicap race there were 4 groups, starting with 4th cats plus vet 50+ and female 3rd cats, then all other 3rd cats, a 2nd cat group and finally two 1st cats at almost a lap down. The first 2 groups merged fairly soon and worked well to hold off the faster lads so it was only just before the “5 to go” that all groups came together. It was then a big bunch sprint where John Bardsley (360 cycling) took the victory from Andrew Clucas (Merlin Cycles Rivington Brew Co) and Harvey Stroh (TAAP Kalas).

It was a smaller field for the Open 2/3/4 but it was a good attacking race with lots of moves going, but non sticking for very long, so it again came to a sprint, in the fading light of a warm evening. The photo finish was needed to separate the first 2 but it went, by a rim, to George Safranauskas (360 cycling) from Benjamin Myers (Lee Valley Youth Cycling Club) and Alfonso Leone (Chorlton Velo).
