Adam Kenway of Metaltek Kuota RT wins the Chesterfield Coureurs Hill Climb on Beeley Moor

From a record entry of 98, 74 starters faced the timekeeper in the 22nd running of the Beeley Moor hillclimb. Despite conditions not being favourable, Adam Kenway put in a storming effort to take a clear win from Kieran Savage.
Had there been a tailwind Matt Clintons record of 8:17.5 would surely have been threatened. The same could be said for the ladies winner Liz Steadman; who defended her title with a time just 36 seconds short of the record.
The one record which was beaten today was the team record which was destroyed by nearly 2 minutes with the combined efforts of Savage, Patrick Clarke and Archie Cross who underlined their credentials for taking the team prize at the national championships in just two weeks’ time.
