Despite the damp conditions, there was another good turnout of 242 competitors at the NSC last Tuesday night for round three of Team RL360 Isle of Man’s youth league.

Powering away from the field, Bella Quaye scored her second successive win in the born 2013 & later age group. Euan Kinnish outran Eli Dawson, Jackson Roberts and Riley Faragher to claim the runners-up spot, with Harry Kinrade a short distance behind in sixth place. India Smith held off Austin Baglow and David Leece for seventh, while Theodore Hawley pipped Ewan McCubbin in the dash for tenth.

In the novices class Elliott Barron led leading girl Holly Beattie home for a clear victory. Charlotte Ashall edged out Bradley Malone for third and Jenson Baglow stayed ahead of Alfie Thomas and Xara Quinn to grab fifth. Eugene McKiernan, Ted Thompson and Alexander Jones completed the top ten.

Cameron Eyres got the better of fellow frontrunner Poppy Clayton in the final sprint to bag maximum points in the born 2012 event. Tommy Bass was too quick for Timothy Clarke and Gracie Evans in the tussle for third, with George Hampton maintaining station in sixth spot. Tommie Quayle dropped Oliver Kennington in the closing stages to snatch seventh and Henry Kinrade rode away from Oscar Maddrell and Kieran Binns to secure ninth.

A last lap attack earned Jacob Wilson the victory in the born 2011 category. Alex McCullagh beat Bernat Munoz-Fite to the line for second and top girl Erin Morgan fended off Charlie Dormer in the rush for fourth. Dylan Honeyman led Samuel Kinnish, Macaulay Teare and Bobby Kewley home for sixth, while Toby Costain trailed in on his own to round off the top ten leader board.

After breaking away together in the early stages, Kylan Murphy got the verdict over Liam Blake in the gallop at the end of the born 2010 race. Brad Le Geyt kept Lula Kinnish at bay in the battle for third and Daniel Minay inched ahead of Conor Madsen-Mygdal for fifth. Max Messenger was a solid seventh and Alfie Kinrade hung onto eighth ahead of chasers Hugh Osborn and Illiam Thomas.

In the born 2009 three lapper May-Saa Smith outsprinted Abi Clayton and Zach Jones to notch up her second overall win of the series. Cameron Hounsell slipped ahead of Tom Pickavance and Eddie Dillon for fourth, with Harry Beattie leaving Henry Dormer and Graihagh Morgan in his wheel tracks to secure seventh. Florrie Thomas wrapped up the top ten.

Onchan’s Deaglan Blake emerged from a leading group of six riders to take the top honours in the born 2008 class. Alec Sorby was second closely followed by Freddie Griffin, Charlie Williams, T.J.Teare and Joel Long, with chasers George Kinnish Leon Murphy and Lewis Quirk close behind in seventh to ninth places respectively. Tiana Kelly was the first girl in 13th position.

A fast pace split the field in the born 2007 and earlier grouping. At the finish Cian Howard headed Oscar Gaylor and Orry Lund in the final sprint for the top slot. Jordan Carter was fourth and James Kinrade came from behind to take fifth ahead of Nicola Quaye, Teddy Dunn and Chloe Dillon.

Twelve riders contested the gallop at the end of the under-8 and under-10 racing bikes. In a very close finish it was Alec Sorby who took first place ahead of Charlie Williams and Deaglan Blake. The U/8’s prize went to Kylan Murphy in seventh place and the girl’s award to May-Saa Smith in eighth spot.

In the under-12 racing bikes Owen Collins beat breakaway partners Cian Howard and Ivan Sorby in the final surge for the line. Oscar Gaylor edged Drystan Sewell for fourth and Orry Lund led Sophie Smith, Nicola Quaye and Rio Kelly in the scrap for sixth.

A fast moving leading group of ten riders formed at the head of the under-14 and under-16 racing bikes. The group stayed together until the penultimate lap when Will Corkill attacked and rode clear for a comfortable victory. Aaron Lund was a good second and James Harrison third, with Tyler Hannay, Matthew Cooil and Corrin Leeming just behind in fourth, fifth and sixth places. The top under-14 rider was Ralf Holden in eighth spot.
