Stone Wheelers MOD Swynnerton Circuit Race report and results held on the 12th June 2022

The race was delayed by approximately 30 minutes due to a Road Traffic Accident on M6 South band causing a good number of riders to be delayed Race organiser made the decision to delay the start by approx 30 minutes and reducing the race time by 30 minutes, riders and Marshalls accepted this delay with good grace.

Fourty three riders took to the line made up of all categories including Three Juniors and One female in order to accommodate all age groups and abilities. The race format was a handicap race split into two groups; under 55s and Over 55s with the latter being given a six minute advantage. As TLI caters for all abilities some riders rode out of category.
The circuit within MOD Swynnerton is 2.4 mile around very flat with fast corners and totally traffic free thus providing safe and fast racing. Riders advised me within the over 55s group, the average speed was 25MPH plus with the under 55s exceeding 26MPH.

Due to the fast racing, riders were dropped from their groups (these were allowed to continue racing until 3 laps to go when they were pulled from the race). After around 60 minutes of racing, there were 3 distinct groups on the circuit the over 55s remaining at the front of the race. The under 55s split into two groups. Connor McKinnon and Robbie Lawton made the junction from the under 55s to the over 55s and in the last few laps gained a small lead ahead of the over 55s with Connor just beating Robbie in the sprint for the line.

The next 2 groups on the road each had a bunch sprint for the remaining places thus making judging difficult for the marshals on the line. I believe that the judges got most of the positions right however if we did get it slightly wrong please accept this a genuine sporting error.
