Cycling Club Isle of Man announce Rás Tailteann roster
Cycling Club Isle of Man is delighted to unveil its roster for the upcoming Rás Tailteann. The five-rider line-up is a mixture of youth and experience as the team aims to achieve strong results in the U23 category as well as the main general classification. Racing for Cycling Club Isle of Man at the Rás Tailteann next week will be young riders Corrin Leeming and Ralf Holden, and the more experienced Mark Horsthuis and Jamie Fletcher. We are also thrilled to have guest rider Marcus Christie, who competed for Ireland at the UCI Road World Championships in 2021.
Corrin and Mark rode for Cycling Club Isle of Man at the Rás Tailteann last year while Marcus previously competed in the race in 2016. Both Jamie and Ralf are making their debuts at the event this month. Team manager, Conor Davies: “I’m looking forward to seeing this group of guys race over the five days as we have a strong group where all stages are covered with Mark looking at the sprints and helping Corrin and Ralf into position for the climbs while they look for a good overall position in the u23 classification and the overall.
“We also have Jamie and Marcus with the experience of racing in Ireland and are strong guys to have to go in the breakaways and pick up points for the sprint, king of the mountain, and most aggressive rider competitions, and maybe a stage along the way.”
This year’s Rás is expected to be one of the toughest in recent seasons, but Cycling Club Isle of Man will be heading to the race with big ambitions. The race takes place between May 17 and 21. It will start in Navan, County Meath, and travels across the country to Ennis in County Clare, before returning to finish in Blackrock, County Louth. Supporting the island’s cyclists wouldn’t be possible without support from the community as well as our sponsors. This year, Cycling Club Isle of Man is supported by the Law Trust, Cycle 360, Bikestyle, Bettridges, and NFuse.
