West Midlands Men’s and Women’s regional championships — Entries are invited for both the West Midlands Men’s and Women’s road race championships on June 11

– the Men’s championship being held in the Shropshire village of Aston on Clun

– the Women’s championship – last run in 2021 – being combined with the East Midlands women’s race and being held on a new, relatively flat course at Widmerpool near Melton Mowbray.

“The Aston on Clun course for the men’s championship is less selective than last year’s race at Minsterley, so it should provide an opportunity for riders with all-round ability,” said organiser William Fotheringham of the West Midlands road race work group. Last year’s men’s winner Charlie Walker will not be riding due to a work commitment. The men’s race is also the fifth counting round of the West Midlands road race league for second, third and fourth categories, currently being led by Emile Glorieux of Royal Leamington Spa.
