SPONSOR FEATURE — A Day in the Life at CHS Ciclismo : Where Passion Meets Performance
At CHS Ciclismo, the fervor for cycling intertwines seamlessly with relaxation and recovery, creating an unforgettable experience for cycling enthusiasts. Each day at our cycling retreat and training camp is meticulously crafted to fuel ambition, enhance performance, and provide athletes with the nurturing environment they need to thrive.
Our day begins promptly at 8:30 AM, where eager participants gather for a hearty breakfast designed to fuel their adventures. The spread includes everything from comforting porridge oats to perfectly poached eggs, alongside nutrient-dense cereals that ensure everyone is primed for the ride ahead.
By 9:30 AM, the excitement builds as we convene in the briefing room. Here, our cyclists learn about the day’s route—an exhilarating journey often spanning 120 kilometres with over 2000 meters of elevation gain. Detailed discussions about distance and terrain prepare everyone for the challenges ahead, and we ensure the routes are uploaded onto Garmin devices, making navigation a breeze.
At 9:45 AM, we transition to bike preparation. Each bicycle is meticulously checked to guarantee safety and performance—because every detail matters during a ride. During this time, we fill water bottles, and have our homemade flapjacks and rice cakes ready; these refreshments are essential for sustaining energy throughout the ride.
By 10 AM, it’s time to set off. The thrill of the ride is palpable as we leave the training base. Our routes take us through breath-taking landscapes, with 4 to 5 hours of actual riding time challenging riders both physically and mentally. For those who crave longer adventures, we also plan extended routes that promise exhilarating encounters and the thrill of conquering more challenging distances.
We typically return to base around 3:30 PM, and participants are greeted with a delightful post-ride recovery shake—packed with protein to expedite recovery. A carefully prepared post-ride lunch awaits to fill those empty stomachs, nourishing bodies that have just completed an amazing day on the bike.
From 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, relaxation is the focus. Our spa facilities are at the ready, boasting a sauna, steam room, hot tub, and pool. The highlight for many is the arrival of our fantastic masseuse, Diana, whose complimentary massages work wonders to ease away the day’s exertions and rejuvenate tired legs.
As the sun sets, dinner is served at 7 PM, featuring a hearty three-course meal tailored specifically for cyclists and athletes. This is not just a meal; it’s a fuel station for the body, designed to replenish and restore energy levels.
After dinner, the evening unfolds with camaraderie and entertainment. Whether gathering in the cinema room for a film or challenging friends at our state-of-the-art Brunswick pool table in the games room, the laughter and joy echo through the retreat.
Abundant teas, coffees, and cakes keep the culinary experience alive, fostering a community of happy cyclists who share stories and victories from the day’s ride.
Another superb day at CHS Ciclismo wraps up with smiles, shared experiences, and a sense of accomplishment that keeps our cyclists returning for more. Join us for an incredible cycling adventure—where every mile is met with passion.
