May 7, 2025 – Preston, United Kingdom: Ribble, the leading British cycle manufacturer since 1897, has unveiled its new flagship road bike, the ULTRA-RACE. This super-light, aerodynamic race machine utilises a totally new and groundbreaking carbon fibre technology. It has been developed and fine-tuned using extensive CFD and wind tunnel research, as well as real-world testing on the unforgiving roads of the UK.
Designed without compromise to excel in every race situation, the ULTRA-RACE serves up a triple threat; empowering riders to out climb, out corner and out sprint the competition.
Out Climb
The featherlight 775g frame is constructed from a revolutionary MT65 carbon layup – a world first in the bicycle industry. The material is deployed zonally to increase strength, stiffness and reduce weight. Targeted application around the bottom bracket improves power transfer while use in the seat stays enhances comfort and compliance. The frame has been precision-crafted to propel riders forward and upward with maximum efficiency, ensuring no wasted energy when ascending any climb.
Out Corner
Pro-tuned geometry (details of which can be found in the downloadable assets folder below) and precision handling provide optimal control on the most technical corners and descents, ensuring the ULRA-RACE meets the UCI’s approval criteria for elite international racing.
The bike features a new aero carbon integrated handlebar, which delivers pinpoint handling. Ribble has included increased downtube and bottom bracket profiles that improve responsiveness. Integrated cable routing features throughout.
Out Sprint
The aerodynamic tube profiles, seamless integration and exceptional stiffness are all inherited from Ribble’s ULTRA-AERO race bike. The ULTRA-RACE builds on these foundations to create an ultra-light bike that converts every watt into pure speed for maximum sprint efficiency. The shaping of the downtube and headtube, combined with the asymmetric seat tube and chain stay design, delivers enhanced power transfer and ride compliance. While the flared seat stays and wide fork profile further reduce drag, providing up to 32mm of tyre clearance.
Rounding off its sleek design, the bike features a threaded BSA bottom bracket, aero bottle cages, and an integrated carbon bar with aerodynamic shaping (customers can specify a separate bar and stem).
In comparison to the Endurance SL R Disc model it replaces, the ULTRA-RACE is 12% lighter while delivering a 0.72% drag reduction, and an average 2.6 W power saving.
Jamie Burrow, Ribble Head of Product, said: “Quite simply, the ULTRA-RACE is the best all-round race bike Ribble has ever produced. It is a bike that bridges the gap between pure aero and ultra-lightweight race models. It’s been designed to conquer relentless climbs, rail the most demanding corners, and unleash explosive speed when it counts. It is the definitive choice for riders who refuse to compromise on performance.”
Availability and Pricing
The bike is available in six sizes – from XXS (suitable for riders 4’ 11” / 150cm tall) to XL (for riders 6’ 5” / 196cm) – and three bold colourway options: Satin Black, Pearl White, and Team Edition Red. Like every Ribble, the ULTRA-RACE is built to order in the UK, which means it is fully customisable with a wide range of componentry specifications available using Ribble’s BikeBuilder and CustomColour tools at ribble.com.
The ULTRA-RACE is available from Wednesday, 7th May. Prices range from £3,699 for the Shimano 105 Di2 groupset option, to the scale-beating 6.58kg build with SRAM Red and Scope Artech wheels at £10,499.
