A very early break went on lap 1 featuring Jackson, Nisbett and Boyle, and had over 1:20 at one point. Belton-Owen, Coles and Ketteringham bridged and worked well to stay away once the bunch got going. Lots of attacking from the front of the peloton but nothing that coalesced enough to stick. A fast race too, a lot quicker than last year’s. The early break really kept it honest.
