Mid Shropshire Wheelers Friday Night Cyclo-Cross — Winners on Pizza night at an even faster Shrewsbury Sports Village were Danny Davies, Teleri Rowlands, Iestyn Rowlands, Mia Lewis, Sully Berry and Helen Kirk.

Shimano Lazer West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League champion Sully Berry made a trip over from his Redditch base, frantically fitting new parts in the Shrewsbury Sports Village car park for his first cross outing of the year and brought another level of speed to the course with 11 laps under 47 minutes and a new fastest lap of 4:02. Sully really enjoyed the “fun short course and could have gone faster at the end once I was used to the new kit and obviously the layout of the course but by then there was a lot of traffic”.

Danny Davies was back to take the Under 12 win with last week’s winner Teleri Rowlands not far back in 3rd overall and again 1st girl. An amazing turnout of 41 riders in the under 12s, a final Friday Night Pizza Party before school on Monday.

Iestyn Roberts saved the best to last and took his first win of the series with a frustrated Mia Lewis taking the girls win but really wanting to ride up in the new seasons categories starting September 1st.

Next event at Shrewsbury Sports Village is the Shimano Lazer West Midlands Cyclo-Cross Round 3 on 21st September.
