For the first time since the death of regular team manager Alan Rosner, the East Region has a team in the Junior Tour of Wales, a five stage, three day event over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Organised by Daniel Doncaster of CC Ashwell, the village-based club from Hertfordshire, the team will be Lewis Stevens from Newmarket, Chris Jackson from Walberswick, Theo Doncaster from Letchworth and Matt Clements from Matching Tye. Chelmsford rider Sean Dunlea also rides as part of a Neon Velo team.

Stevens and Doncaster made their mark on the Eastern road race scene in the Autostrasse race in Suffolk where Doncaster was seventh while Stevens was second and went on to contest the Junior Series taking second in the Bath Junior Road Race on 27th July. Jackson was winner of the Ipswich Bicycle Club Spring Scramble while Clements took third place in the London Bike Show Crit and fifth in the Eagle Road Race in his home county of Essex.

Jackson will be the first off in the opening time trial on Saturday morning starting from Bryn-Mawr and finishing on Tumble Mountain.
