Teams already heading to Northumberland for the race are JLT Condor Presented by Mavic, Madison Genesis, NFTO, ONE Pro, Raleigh GAC and the Netherlands’ WPGAmsterdam.

“The Beaumont has a history of attracting the best riders – and the winners list is a star studded one,” said organiser Peter Harrison. “I’m really pleased to have so many high quality teams already committed to riding in 2016, and look forward to adding others to the list too.”

ONE Pro head director of sport Matt Winston said: “As a British Pro Continental team the UCI races in Britain will be a great opportunity for us to race on home soil in front of our fans. The Beaumont Trophy takes place on a challenging course and I’m sure this year will be another great edition of such a long standing event.”

Arthur Van Dam, team manager of Dutch team WielerPloeg Groot Amsterdam
(WPGA) said: “The Beaumont Trophy is a tremendous opportunity for WPGA Cycling, as we look forward to competing against Britain’s next generation of cycling stars!”

The Cyclone Festival of Cycling also includes the Virgin Money Tyne 6 Bridges family rides, 34, 64, 90 and 106 mile Virgin Money Cyclone Challenge Rides and the Curlew Cup elite women’s race.

2016 is the tenth anniversary of the Cyclone Festival of Cyclone, which attracts around 10,000 riders and spectators over the weekend. Famous faces in recent years have included Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins.

One of the great features of the weekend is that Beaumont riders often train on the course the day before, sharing the roads with riders of all sorts taking part in the Virgin Money Cyclone Challenge Rides.

The Beaumont Trophy welcomes UCI Professional Continental teams registered in the UK, UCI Continental teams, national teams and regional and club teams.
