Scott Davies was the winner of the Tom Hawkins Road Race at Uffculme in Devon. The race was over 86km/53m and for 2nd, 3rd, 4th category riders.

The 2012 Tom Hawkins Road Race in Devon had to be moved to a new course this year because of the continuing road work and infrastructure for the new Cranford village and it was a damp and dismal start for the new course which turned into a bright sunny and warm day.
The course near Uffculme is a small circuit in deepest rural Somerset and Devon and NEG SW had to deal with various hazards to keep the raods clear for the race – which kept a good pace – despite the more than rolling nature of the roads. Six times up the White Ball hill didn’t dampen the riders enthusiasm for the course and pleas to make it a longer race next year have been noted.
There were some spirited attacks and a lot of good team work which resulted in a slightly depleted field contesting the up hill sprint for the line. Junior Scott Davies (MND Cycle Kinetic RT) getting the win from Steven Birch (Exeter Wheelers) by a couple of lengths.
