News – Prendas Giving Back
Since February 2014, online clothing specialist Prendas Ciclismo (www.prendas.co.uk) in partnership with Rocket Espresso (www.rocket-espresso.com) a producer of some of the finest Italian handmade espresso machines have produced a range of clothing that benefits the Dave Rayner Fund (www.daveraynerfund.co.uk).

For every garment in the range, Prendas Ciclismo and Rocket Espresso jointly donate to the fund that benefits both male and female young riders trying to make it in the European Pro Peloton. The fund has received five payments so far with the total donated in excess of £12,000.
Mick Tarrant of Prendas Ciclismo said “It gives us great satisfaction to be involved in a project that benefits something as worthy as the Dave Rayner Fund. Since the late 1990’s, we have provided many young aspiring riders with our own-brand clothing and if we assembled a hypothetical team, we’d have a competitive male and female World Tour team!â€
There are various items that benefit the fund ranging from a cotton cycling cap priced £7.50 to a long sleeve jersey (£69.95), bib shorts (£89.95) and GORE windstopper gilet (£75) all hand made in Italy by Santini. All are available to buy online at prendas.co.uk ( link to http://www.prendas.co.uk/teams/rocket-espresso-milano.html )

Rocket Espresso founding partner and national masters champion Andrew Meo said “Rocket Espresso is pleased to offer continued support to the Dave Rayner foundation through our association with Prendas. Whilst we currently support some 30 ProTour riders, it’s nice to be able to give something to those who are making their way up the ladder in the professional pelotonâ€.
Meo continued “I think Team Sky’s Ian Boswell summed it up nicely when he said, you are not a Pro until you have a Rocket Espresso machine in you kitchenâ€.
Joscelin Ryan representing the Dave Rayner Fund said “The Prendas Ciclismo/Rocket Espresso has proved to be a huge success again this year. Sales of the Rocket Espresso clothing range as supplied by Prendas Ciclismo has generated donations totalling more than £12,000 to date. The Fund is very grateful for the support that has been received. These funds will enable more young riders to experience time spent abroad in their quest to become professional cyclists.”
