Result – Ford CC Go Race

Fourty two riders lined up for the first race of the series, held on a cold, windy evening with a strong headwind on the finish straight. Attacks started early, the first being a promising group of 7 riders, but all were reeled back in within a lap or so.

There were 3 primes, all won by Stuart Weatherley (Colchester Rovers), with him able to measure his effort to do just enough to ensure he was over the line first, and get the money. Stuart unintentionally broke free of the pack in his sprint for the final prime on 4 laps to go, with his teammate Paul Radley not far behind him. They worked together and kept up a decent gap.
Danny Fisher (Blackfen CC) followed up with a solo attack, but unfortunately the headwind got the better of him and he was swallowed up by the peloton on the last lap. Stuart outsprinting his teammate for the win, with Robert Cartledge (Le Domestique tours) taking the sprint for 3rd in the fast closing bunch.
