Report/Results: Mallory Park Youth Races

GIRLS
On our toughest circuit and over a demanding 7 laps, a brilliant solo win in the U12 race produced by Grace Lister – beating all of the boys in the process – was the standout ride of the evening. Clear wins for U8 and U10 league leaders Megan Cherry and Bethany Jackson sees the 2 Leicester Forest CC youngsters further increase their league leads. It was much closer in the U14 and U16 race, run over a demanding 15 laps, with Amelie Wayte outsprinting Lotta Mansfield, Sarah Briggs and Olivia Godsell to take the U14 win and April Tacey outsprinting Xan Cres in the U16 race.

Only 7 points separated the top 3 teams in the team league on the night, The MI Racing Academy extending their overall lead to 60 points.

Well done to all finishers and special thanks to BC’s new Regional Development Manager Steve Johnson and multiple National and World Champion Mick Ives for coming over to present the awards to the top 3 in each race. Finally thanks to our sponsors Raleigh, Jewson and GT85 for their support, which enables events like this to run.

Great racing on the Hilly Crit circuit, and for a change even the weather smiled on us! George Cooper, Josh Giddings and Alex Haines dominated the U8, U14 and U16 events respectively with great solo wins on a really demanding circuit, whilst the U10 and U12 races were closely fought affairs, coming down to a sprint won by Jude du Toit and Ed Hopkins. All of the league leaders retained their jerseys.
