Calum Brown beats Hill Climb Champion Adam Kenway (Raleigh GAC) in the Hardwick Hall Hill Climb
![]() |
Result: Hardwick Hall Hill Climb
Last night, there was a Hill Climb at the very pictureseque Hardwick Hall where Calum Brown, beaten by Adam Kenway by 50 seconds the weekend before, beat the British champion by three seconds to win in a new course record.
Held in pitch black conditions with a good crowd of locals to watch, the race was held on the climb between the Hardwick Inn and Hardwick Hall (normally the exit road for the estate) on wet and slippery roads. The rain though held off during the race which was just as well in the cold conditions.
Kenway, racing on bike he’s adapted for hill climbs by taking off bits not needed for these short events, like a comfy saddle LoL, was second ahead of Greg Booker and Wiggins rider Joey Walker who both tied on 1.26.
