18-year-old German time-trial and points race champion, Lea Lin Teutenberg signs with WNT Pro Cycling for two years

News: New Signing for WNT
Having signed her first professional contract with the British outfit prior to placing 13th in last month’s Junior World Time-Trial Championships, Lin is an all-rounder, with a particularly strong time-trialling prowess.
Teutenberg who hails from Cologne, says ‘I’m really looking forward to the next two years with Team WNT, it’s going to be a great opportunity for me to develop as a rider.’
‘My aim in 2018 will be to help our team leaders as much as possible and learn my trade from some of the more experienced riders. I have a desire to develop in stage races and build on my time-trial abilities.’
Teutenberg’s surname will certainly be familiar to many. The niece of former Tour of Flander’s winner, eight times Tour de l’Aude and Giro d’Italia Femminile stage winner as well as a Team Time Trial World Title to name but a few of her formidable results.
You could say that Lin has the perfect genes to follow in her aunty, Ina Yoko’s footsteps, and by signing a professional contract at the age of 18, WNT Pro Cycling have certainly seen potential in the young rider.

‘To sign for a UCI women’s team straight out of the junior ranks is something I am proud of, and with the help and experience from our team staff and riders I feel I will be able to adapt well to professional racing’ says Lin Teutenberg.
Sports Director, Graeme Herd on welcoming Lin to the team said, ‘I’m delighted to welcome Lin to the team for the next two seasons. She is a young rider with a lot of potential, and she will fit well with our 2018 roster. We look forward to supporting and assisting her progression over the next 2 seasons.’
Lin Teutenberg is the fifth rider to be publicised for 2018 after we announced the signing of Mel Lowther, Lydia Boylan, Hayley Jones and Aafke Soet.
