Junior women in action at the British Women’s Team Cup series in Milton Keynes
Eight first and second year Junior women in the JRC Shutt Ridley Junior team for 2021 are targeting a variety of races this year (road & track) including races in Europe and Britain. The riders are:
— Annabel Ramsay
— Shona Mosley
— Molli Keenor
— Emma Jeffers
— Darcey Ellis
— Holly Bailey
— Morgan Crussell
— Annabel Parker
Last year was no doubt a very difficult year for most cyclists but despite this, the junior girls made the most of what opportunties they had and competed in a variety of circuit races up until the national lockdown was put in place in late March.
These events included the British Women’s Team Cup series, Woolly Mamil circuit races at Stourport and the classic 59th Eddie Soens Memorial race. The team’s junior girls were also in action at their local track leagues in preparation for the National Track Championships due to be held in Glasgow. During the summer, with restrictions easing slightly, the team saw riders competing in Time Trials and hill climbs, notably the National 10 and National Hill Climb championships at Streatley.
Unfortunately, all national level races were then cancelled, which was very disappointing after an extended training period of preparation. Nevertheless, the girls carried on with dogged determination with their eyes set on 2021.
Going into the winter months, the girls continued their training and preparations for the 2021 season, whenever it may start, with the help of coach James Roberts. Whether it be long endurance rides on the road or Zwift racing with the team, the girls are putting in whatever it takes to make the most of 2021 after an uneventful 2020. Many of them are also enjoying using their extra free time with remote learning to get the hours in, in readiness for the start of the season.

Their title sponsor is Shutt Velo Rapide who have been in the clothing industry for many years now and the team are very happy to have the continued support of Shutt Velo Rapide for all of their team kit.
“All the riders are loving the cold weather kit during the recent freezing temperatures” the team says, adding “allowing them to carry on through the worst conditions. As well as this, the girls have been loving their female specific skinsuits from Shutt VR for track sessions. We are also extremely lucky to have the Ridley Noah Fast as our team bikes again this year. We can’t wait for them to see some more racing this year!”
