Winning Weekend for EDCO Continental DriverPlan cycling team who had another sensational weekend with back to back race wins in the North East

First up was Darlington based rider Alana Prior who won a sprint finish at Round 3 of the Velo Winter Series at Croft Circuit on her team supplied Continental Tyres, with fellow rider Marie Lynn also in the points in 6th place. “As it’s such an early season race, I went with the intention of having fun and trying new tactics. I had a great race riding aggressively and attacking numerous times, and despite none paying off I still managed to win the sprint, which I was very pleased with!”

Sunday saw Anna Kay cross the line first for a second weekend in a row at the CXNE cyclo cross race in Bedlington. A winning end to a successful CX season for Anna who said “This was the last race of the season for me so I’m glad my cyclocross season ended with a win. I am now really looking forward to a promising road season with my new team.”

A four woman team consisting of Alana Prior, Ellen McDermott, Hetty Niblett and Sarah Walker now head to Manchester to compete at the National Track Championships, riding EDCO wheels. Road Captain Ellen McDermott said “I would hope to improve on my results from last year at the British champs, I know it will be a super strong field with a huge number of entries. So job one will be get to the finals in the Scratch and we’ll see what a gold medal in the Scottish champs will get me in the Points”.

“At Manchester I will be racings with Continental Tempo II’s, the slickest, smoothest running tubulars I’ve ever seen.”
