At the age of 17, Raleigh’s Dylan Kerfoot-Robson has achieved a level most cyclists can only dream of; representing their country

After a fantastic season in the UK, the young Welshman has been invited to represent Great Britain at the UCI Cyclocross World Championships in Hoogerheide, Netherlands on 1-2 February 2014.
As a member of Raleigh’s grassroots programme, Kerfoot-Robson used his Raleigh RX Race cyclocross bikes to make a name for himself on the national scene with a string of impressive results.
He excelled with a string of victories in the Welsh National Championships and National Series races and he narrowly missed out on gold at the British National Championships, losing out to GB team mate Thomas Craig. Now he has an opportunity to make a name for himself on an international level.
Dylan Kerfoot-Robson: “I am really looking forward to racing for Great Britain in my first ever World Champs, it’s the icing on top of the cake in a season which has exceeded my expectations.
“It has been an honour to race with the backing of such a high profile company like Raleigh. I can’t thank Raleigh enough and could not have dreamt of such a good season with some of the best equipment. Their RX Race has been an ideal bike in many different conditions. With Cole’s T38 wheels and Schwalbe Rocket Ron tyres, I have an incredibly fast ride which I’m sure will give me an extra advantage at Hoogerheide.”
The purpose-built course at Hoogerheide is set amongst the spectacular surrounds of the Woensdrecht Woodlands in the Netherlands and is set to attract international TV coverage and fans from all over Europe.
Competitors will tackle deep mud, steep slopes, tarmac sections, flyover bridges and various obstacles over a 3,400m course as they fight for the coveted right to wear the rainbow jersey.
Raleigh’s Marketing Manager Ben Hillsdon: “From the young grassroots squad we supported this season we’ve seen some fantastic results and are proud to have helped these riders achieve places within the British Cycling fold. We’re thrilled at Dylan’s success and are proud to be supporting his efforts in Hoogerheide.”
Raleigh will be continuing its grassroots support programme into 2014 with new riders soon to be announced.
