French climber Matthieu Boulo (Raleigh) was best of the British teams in the Tour of Normandy after a five minute prologue won by Stefan Kung (BMC)

Tour of Normandy – Boulo best for the British Teams

Today (Monday) saw the start of the 34th Tour de Normandie in the streets of Saint-Lô where 150 riders started the race against the clock over 3.6 kilometers of a challenging course.

Matthieu Boulo Training

Fastest was Stefan Kung (BMC Development Team) with the Swiss rider winning the prologue in 5’02” on a full TT’d bike. Team Raleigh’s Matthieu Boulo, on a road bike, lost seven seconds to the stage winner but is the teams leading contender with Mark Christian at 10 seconds.

The riders face a tough week ahead now starting with a 200km stage tomorrow (Tuesday).
