Team News – Successful weekend for Team Velosport Pasta Montegrappa

The past weekend has seen Team Velosport Pasta Montegrappa returning to domestic racing after a two month period racing around Europe. The European racing has brought excellent results to the Team, such as Claire Thomas’ 8th place in Gent Wevelgem and all six Velosport Montegrappa riders completing the very tough UCI Energiewacht Tour in Holland.

On return to UK, the team took part in the Nigel Measom 2 day Stage Race in Lutterworth where Lydia Boylan sprinted to a fantastic win in stage 2, drawing on some excellent Team work. Other highlights from the past weekend are; a nail biting and entertaining Scratch final on Friday with Anna Railton and Lydia Boylan heading the breakaway at the Good Friday meeting at the London Velodrome, coming 4th and 5th , after being overtaken in the final few metres, and a Third place by Lydia Boylan in the Keirin final. Also Hayley Simmonds and Anna Railton winning a 1st and 3rd respectively in the BUCS 10 mile TT.

On Easter Monday, Jasmine Dotti, whom after the Energiewacht Tour has taken a break with her family in Italy, was an excellent 7th in the GP Schiavonia D’Este won by former world champion Giorgia Bronzini. This coming weekend Team Velosport Pasta Montegrappa will be racing in UK and abroad. Part of the Team, will compete in the Cheshire Classic while the other half of the Team will race the UCI 1.2 Omloop van Borsele Saturday 26th in Holland and the UCI 1.1 Dwars door de Westhoek Sunday 27th in Belgium.
