News – Welsh Open Youth Crit Championships

The 2014 Welsh Open YOUTH Crit Championships plus supporting WOMEN & MEN’s races will take place on 9th August at Marsh Tracks, Rhyl and organised by Marsh Tracks RACE Team.

The event has attracted a great number of industry sponsors including USN, Continental, VAM Performance and K-Tape/Physio At The Lodge together with local businesses Voel Coaches, Faenol Fawr Hotel, Victoria Shopping Centre and the cycling clubs of Rhos on Sea CC, Clwb Mynydd Beicio Dyffryn Conwy, Chester RC and Holyhead CC.

Welsh Championship Jerseys will be awarded to winners that meet Welsh eligibility criteria in Youth A, B and C races, plus Championship medals to podium places. Non-championships medals will be awarded to Youth D & E podium finishes.
Riders meeting Welsh eligibility criteria wanting to compete for the Welsh Jersey must enter by Sunday 3rd August. On the day entries will be accepted but Welsh riders will not be eligible for the Welsh Jersey.

As the name suggests, this is an “Open” event for riders of any nationality and will be able to compete for the Prizes below.

1st £75.00 plus Continental Double Wheel Bag; 2nd £50.00 plus Continental kit bag; 3rd £25.00 plus Continental kit bag

Youth B Boys:
1st £75.00 plus Continental kit bag; 2nd £50.00 plus Continental kit bag; 3rd £25.00 plus Continental kit bag

Youth B Girls:
1st £75.00 plus Continental kit bag; 2nd £50.00 plus Continental kit bag; 3rd £25.00 plus Continental kit bag

Youth C Boys:
1st £20.00 plus Continental kit bag; 2nd £10.00 plus Continental kit bag; 3rd £5.00 plus Continental kit bag

Youth C Girls:
1st £20.00 plus Continental kit bag; 2nd £10.00 plus Continental kit bag; 3rd £5.00 plus Continental kit bag

Youth D Combined:
1st £15.00 plus Continental kit bag; 2nd £10.00 plus Continental kit bag; 3rd £5.00 plus Continental kit bag

Youth E Combined:
1st £15.00 plus Continental kit bag; 2nd £10.00 plus Continental kit bag; 3rd £5.00 plus Continental kit bag

In addition to the Youth races, there’s a Women’s E1234, Men’s E12 and Men’s 34 races.

Online entries for the Adult races will close on 7th August and entry on the day will be accepted.
