Years of service to the sport by Jenny Lusher of Norwich was recognised when British Cycling Eastern Region Chairman David Hales presented Jenny with BC’s Gold Badge of Honour in a small socially-distanced presentation outside Jenny’s home on the outskirts of The Fine City.

The usual presentation at BC’s Annual National Council had scuppered by the Covid situation. Jenny had been had been BC’s regional treasurer for many years, and more recently had given massive support to her husband Derek, who died two years ago, during his long spell as Regional Competition Administrator and Commisaire

However Jenny’s work for cycling had begun decades earlier, in particular with involvement with the English Schools Cycling association where she and Derek eventually became organizers of the ESCA International, first at Milton Keynes and then in Norfolk.

More recently Jenny and Derek were mainstays of the organising team that brought evening racing to the Lotus Company’s test track at Hethel where generations of local riders have had their first experience of road racing.

Speaking of her long involvement with cycling Jenny commented “I have enjoyed every minute of it because of the people we have met over the years. The bike has taken to some lovely countries overseas as well as in Britain.”
