The Pedal Heaven Race Team have applied for a UCI Continental licence for the upcoming 2016 season
Best non UCI team at the Pearl Izumi Tour Series in 2015
The team say on their website, “we’re an ambitious team constantly striving to excel at every race we compete in, and by stepping it up to the UCI Continental level we’re really driving the team forward. It has always been our ambition since the teams inception and we’re really excited for the upcoming season”.
To help them fund the move forward, they have a new sponsor, Pierian. “We look forward to working together with Pierian to achieve our targets and really make a statement this season. Time has flown by, but rest assured we’ve been hard at work behind the scenes selecting a team which has a great depth of experience and wide range of style”.
“We have a solid mix of young and hugely motivated talent backed by riders with many years of success and experience”.
Backing up the UCI team will be a Pedal Heaven Excel Academy. “The academy has been carefully crafted from a rich mixture of riders which have the ambition and drive of racing at the top of their game in the future.”
Pedal Heaven are proud of their grass roots background and will continue to champion racing at a lower level by offering the support and guidance for every individual to excel in sport that we love. The Pedal Heaven Excel Academy will be a feeder team running in parallel to the UCI Continental Team, with its own dedicated race calendar and plan”.
Tim Elverson, Directeur Sportif, says of the academy, “The fact that we have made the step up is really exciting. We feel that we proved a point last season: that a well constructed, lean team can bite at the heels of the teams with the big budgets and sponsors. This doesn’t mean we’ll be resting on our laurels, we have to build on the solid foundations we’ve laid, and with our lineup this season; it’s well within our sightsâ€.
