Result: Sunderland Clarion Hill Climb – Race 2

A third consecutive win for the veteran climbing machine Karl Denton in the day’s second hill climb in the North East promoted by Sunderland Clarion

Hill Climb event held on Hammer Square Bank, Beamish, Co Durham.

A third consecutive win for the veteran climbing machine Karl Denton from Blumilk.com in today’s second event of the day. The event was staged by Sunderland Clarion CC on a new hill on the circuit, the short but hugely steep Hammer Square Bank.

Denton scorched up the climb in 1’52.8 to take the win by 4.2 seconds from fellow vet Ben Lane of GS Metro. (Strangely Denton and Lane share the exact same birthday). Completing the podium for this event was GS Metro new recruit Carl Donaldson a further 1 second behind Lane to give the podium a distinctly Belgian look.

Denton looks to have an early stranglehold on the league with a perfect 3 from 3 record.

Joe Mann (Derwentside CC) reversed the morning result to take the junior prize defeating Kyle Watts (Tyneside Vagabonds CC) by 2.5 secs.
