Sat 25th/Sun 26th May
The 2024 promotion is the 50th edition of this stage race promoted by the Mid Devon CC.  The race’s origins go back to 1973 when the Mid-Devon Road Club first promoted a two-day event to mark the twinning of Totnes and Vire in Normandy. This classic race has led to some immense battles in the past with previous winners including; Darrel Webster, Mark Bell, Peter Longbottom, Jon Locke, Matt Holmes, Rory Townsend and our own Mike Parker.

To honour the 3 greats of the club that we have lost over the past year we have decided to name each stage in memory of them.

SATURDAY
Event HQ – Hatherleigh Community Centre, Bowling Green Lane, Hatherleigh, EX20 3HB

Stage 1 (10.31 stage starts) – Ken Robertson Ruby Country TT. 8.8 miles approx

Stage 2 (1.30pm) – Roy Hopkins Dartmoor View Road Race. 67 miles approx

Course: The start will be from the HQ. Due to roadworks on the course we have had to
revise this stage to use the Jacobstowe Circuit. It’s a 7 miles approx grippy circuit that
makes for good racing. It has been resurfaced from last year 🙂

From the HQ you travel on the A386 in the direction of Okehampton. At Bassets Cross
approx 1 mile from the HQ you start the first lap. After a further 3 miles race turns LEFT
onto the A3072 – direction Jacobstowe. In Jacobstowe, Race turns LEFT at a T-junction
onto the B3216 – direction Hatherleigh. You complete the lap and Race turns LEFT at a
T-junction onto the A386. Repeat 9 times. The 9th time, the race turns right towards
Hatherleigh, proceeds through the Roundabout by the HQ and finishes approx .5 miles
up the hill towards Torrington.
