Youngster Elliott Porter won the first in the SERRL Sumer Series road race over a cold, wet and windy 75 miles in East Sussex on Sunday

Young Porter drilled it halfway through the race and got himself into a break of three before going on to beat Pedal Heaven’s Chris MacNamara and the ‘flying doctor’ Alex Higham of Felt Colbournes/Hargroves Cycles in the dash for the line.

Afterwards the young Rapha rider told BC “I was feeling incredibly strong, even when the small break formed I knew I was the strongest, I just had the feeling. As the finish approached, I was a bit hesitant in case the other two guys were bluffing but I put the attack in and when Chris went with me, I just attacked again. I was in Australia for two months with Rapha Condor and then did the Eddie Soens. I was never really hurting at all today, I could have done another two laps. Australia has made such a difference and I’d like to thank Rapha for that.”
