From Dave Cockram – A sincere thank you from Liz and I to everyone who helped out on the day and before. It was a very good day in all aspects, the weather gods smiled on us and the racing was superb with thankfully no crashes.

Very nerve wracking for me as I wasn’t sure how the track would cope with big bunches of riders, but it was fine. Some minor problems to iron out for next time, and in this respect I would appreciate any comments, constructive or otherwise so that I can make sure I iron out all the snags.

The highlights were the Under 16 Boys Devil, Scratch and Points races, which were as good as any bike races I’ve ever seen………and I’ve seen some. It is easy to forget just how far track racing in the UK has progressed, but seeing those kids yesterday makes me realise why we are the number one cycling nation in the world, and why we will still be number one for years to come.
